Our next Wild Camp Craft course will be on 1st and 2nd December, in the Lake District (the exact location will depend on the weather).
We'll meet at 12:30pm (lunchtime), spend a couple of hours preparing, sharing and training followed by a walk into a wild location to set up for an overnight wild camp (camp, tarp or bivouac). We'll aim to be back at the vehicles by 11:00am on the Sunday. The location for this event will be decided according to the weather forecast and could be relatively remote so you will require transport.
This event is suitable for anyone of average fitness who is able to carry a loaded rucksack into the hills of the Lake District. We prefer that participants bring their own equipment (we will provide a kit list) but we can provide items of camping equipment if required.
Full Joining Instructions will be emailed a couple of weeks prior to the event.
Course fee: £36 per person (payable by BACS/PayPal)
During the event we'll explore many aspects of wild camping, and especially those of interest to each participant. We'll also run a series of short discussion and practical sessions including:
- Introduction and wild camp etiquette;
- Kit check; a brief look at equipment;
- Pack and carry: take what you'll use;
- Preparing to leave no trace;
- Environmental responsibility;
- Personal health and safety;
